Frank Luntz urges pollsters to request new career soon after Trump outperforms polls: ‘Sell real estate’
Republican pollster Frank Luntz advised Fox News’ “Media Excitement” on Sunday that the trustworthiness of his job has been irreversibly weakened after President Trump outperformed polls for a 2nd straight presidential election.
The Veteran pollster advised host Howard Krutz that that general public viewpoint surveys significantly underestimated Trump’s assistance once more, and urged people liable for botching back-to-back presidential elections to search for a new career.
LUNTZ: POLLSTERS HAVE Hardly ever BEEN SO WRONG
“I think what is going on is accountability in action,” Luntz argued, “and if you bought it wrong this time, you got it completely wrong 2 times in a row, you shouldn’t be performing in the business. There are other matters you can do. You can provide true estate. You can offer stocks,” he claimed. ” Stop offering polls.”
Trump informed reporters Thursday night that pollsters deliberately inflated President-elect Joe Biden’s lead in the 2020 race in buy to suppress his support and safe Biden’s path to 270 electoral votes.
Luntz, who earlier identified as Trump’s re-election bid “the worst marketing campaign” he is ever seen, turned down the president’s claim Sunday, and urged him to “come to grips” with what in fact cost him the presidency — his inadequate debate performance.
“Donald Trump would have won if he had not done so badly in that very first debate,” Luntz argued. “But he has to look at himself in the mirror and say, ‘is it my fault? Is it the issues that I claimed, is it the displays I gave?'”
Luntz ongoing, “What we now know it was a close election and those people pollsters who said it was going to be a blowout, they shouldn’t be working anymore. But,” he added,” Trump himself has to definitely come to grips with the to start with debate and how harmful it was to candidacy.”
LIBERTY VITTERT: POLLSTERS Did not DELIBERATELY MAKE INACCURATE ELECTION FORECASTS
When Luntz chalked up the misdirected polls to a unsuccessful effort and hard work on behalf of pollsters and turned down promises of political interference, he pointed fingers instead at the media, accusing an unnamed publication of suppressing the outcomes of a series of concentration groups he conducted in battleground states throughout the 2020 election cycle.
“The truth is, and I am bringing it down right here, they are not listening and I’m not convinced that they want to know,” he said. “The target teams that I did for a big newspaper, the people in the newsroom tried to eliminate it again and all over again and again. They did not want to have this as part of their protection. They desired to management the narrative and they did not want to give it to the voters themselves but they felt uncomfortable about me.”
“The stuff that we did in the incredibly to start with — the first debate, Donald Trump did not win that discussion. He did badly and that’s exactly what the concentrate team confirmed, but the people in the newsroom don’t want accountability. They really do not want to hear this voice, and so which is why they get it incorrect.”
When Kurtz asked him to explain what he deemed a “really major charge” alleging that “some journalists and news corporations did not want to hear anything that would be more constructive to Trump or more negative to Joe Biden,” Luntz explained flatly, ” I know specifically what I’m saying.”

“I was completely clear. That’s what the information media needs right now particularly in the newsrooms of newspapers. Genuine accountability, genuine transparency, arrive clean about what you truly want, and how you’re reporting,” he concluded, “mainly because the American people are entitled to very little considerably less.”
